PINOCCHIO

Watch the trailer.

In this new look at the well-known story, we are taken on adventures we could only dream of by our storyteller, Geppetto. Meet all manner of characters: a very shady fox and cat, a performing donkey, a terrible whale who swallows people whole, a talking cricket, and an anglerfish blues band.

This Pinocchio is full of the type of fun, mischief and magic that normally only happens when grown-ups turn their backs for a second. Featuring circus, puppets, and magical storytelling, all performed on a beautifully hand crafted set, this will be one show you will won’t be able to stop thinking about for weeks!

HOME SWEET HOME

Watch the trailer

Part-Iranian, part-Welsh, part-who cares, part-everybody-cares: Home Sweet Home uses circus, stand-up and plenty of true-to-life anecdotes to explore what it is to feel like you don’t belong.

Performer Kaveh Rahnama re-imagines the BNP in the 80s, broken eggs, water fights, class struggles, biting, Brexit, relationships, fatherhood and juggling in the rain. With a classic soundtrack of feel-good hits, this partly autobiographical show is an entertaining look at what it means to be British when one, or both, of your parents isn't.

The show has been developed with the support of Arts Council England, Proteus, Stratford Circus, ARC Stockton, and Jacksons Lane. Originally devised as ‘Move On’ by Kaveh Rahnama and Umar Butt.

Devised and performed by Kaveh Rahnama, Director/ writer - Lilac Yosiphon, Movement Director and co-devisor - Angela Gasparetto, Design - Alison Alexander, Lighting Design - Will Monks, Sound design and original score - Liam Quinn

memory man

This outdoor show is a beautiful wordless piece looking at memory.  In 30 minutes a simple story unravels of a man unpacking a trunk of memories. Objects are revealed, and stories are told.

Memory Man is a simple show for all ages. It features a working electric train, some very entertaining circus skills and lots of bubbles. We won't ruin the end but it features a breath taking and very unexpected finale.

Memory Man will entertain and engage a diverse audience through its sheer simplicity yet highly visual nature.

The Party

A man excitedly waits for the guests to arrive at his party. The cake is made, the presents have arrived, and the music is playing – all he needs are his friends to make this the best birthday ever. Enter some unexpected guests: a French cyclist, a man dressed as a giant chicken and a mysterious stranger who has apparently never had a birthday. What ensues is an endlessly entertaining topsy-turvy show that humorously explores difficult topics such as sharing, social exclusion, and not always getting what you want.

A fantastically engaging show for young people to enjoy with the whole family… and there’s even pass the parcel.

The Party is brilliant! All the fun of the circus, but set within a world that all children know, so they intuitively connect with it which enhances their enjoyment all the more. Genuinely one of the best children's shows I have seen in a long time. - Annabel Turpin; Chief Exec and programmer, ARC Stockton

lab rat

Spencer is a man with a big heart, who'll do anything for his daughter.

When he finds out there are clinical trials that offer generous payments to take a new miracle pill, it seems too good to be true. Spencer's test results make him the perfect advert, apart from one major side effect...

Touching, brilliant and innovative, Lab Rat uses visual theatre and puppetry to explore family, loss and the value of memories.

Lab Rat is a co-production between Genius Sweatshop and Nearly There Yet, supported by Little Angel Theatre and Jacksons Lane. Originally commissioned by Little Angel Firsts.
